Scramble Assistant for Word allows you to scramble the characters in a document in a way that the formatting of the document remains intact, but the content of the document is scrambled to make it illegible. We also offer a retail version of this product that provides both redaction and scrambling options. The redaction tool is excellent for hiding selected text within a document.
To Install:
Run the install program and it will prompt you to place the ScrambleAssistant.dot in Word’s STARTUP folder. If you want to place the file in a different folder, you can do so, however, you will need to load the template ScrambleAssistant.dot from Word's Templates and Add-ins dialog box (Tools|Templates and Addins) before you run the utility.
To Run:
You can run the utility from the Scramble Assistant toolbar or from the File Menu (File|Scramble Document).
Important! There is no way to undo a scramble once the document has been saved and closed. Therefore, it is critical that you preserve the original file before scrambling and/or sending out a scrambled document.
